AMERICAN INDIAN BUSINESS NETWORK PROGRESS UPDATE

ALBUQUERQUE, NM, October 1, 2008 – Blue Stone Strategy Group is scheduled to present an update on the progress of the American Indian Business Network (AIBN) initiative at the NIGA Mid-Year Membership Meeting. “Our goal is to establish the structure and direction for the AIBN to develop into a world class organization that creates opportunities and benefits for business in Indian Country,” said Jamie Fullmer, CEO of Blue Stone Strategy Group.

Blue Stone Strategy Group was engaged by NIGA in April of 2008 to spearhead the initiative and assist in the following:

• Develop the vision, systems, and structure for the AIBN to contribute to the growth of the Indian Economy
• Facilitate the coordination of partners and resources to deliver upon the vision
• Reach out and engage corporate sponsors and other entities to fund the build out, expansion, and on-going operations of the AIBN
• Obtain a recommitment from Tribes to support the vision and a “Buy Indian” mentality

At this half-year milestone, the following activities have occurred or are underway:
• Formation of a 501(c)(6) corporate structure for the AIBN
• Outreach to promote the vision of NIGA to Tribes and Indian Owned Businesses
• Work with NIGA executive board to develop standards of certification for AIBN
• Consolidation of website content and messaging to be managed through AIBN

Blue Stone Strategy Group has assisted with the NIGA executive board with the development of a survey, which is being distributed to NIGA member tribes. The survey is an important first step in understanding the needs and progress of tribes in the areas of economic development and revenue diversification. It gives tribes a voice in setting the priorities and goals for AIBN and will ensure that the proper issues are being addressed. “The early enthusiasm for the AIBN is encouraging,” said Fullmer. “As the formal structure is put in place, we anticipate great value to be created.”
