As the Chairman and Treasurer of the 13th Regional Corporation (created under the Alaskan Native Claims Settlement Act of 1971) and the CEO of the National Tribal Development Association, Michael Rawley brings significant experience and support to Native communities as a Senior Strategist of Blue Stone Strategy Group.

In addition to his positions, he is a member of the Western Coalition of Alaska Natives, the Alaska Federation of Natives, and the Advisory Board for the Ho’oulu Lahui Hawaiian Charter School.

Rawley understands well the value of generational support and strategic planning for the future, and is committed to protecting the welfare and sovereignty of Native people. He has worked with community development entities to provide economic development capital for capital projects within Native communities to support sustainable Tribal economies.

Rawley believes that an individual Tribal member’s welfare is a key factor in the growth and stability of the entire Tribe.  For the past five years, Rawley has specialized in Native Entrepreneurship Development and the establishment of a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) to provide Native business people with access to start-up and expansion capital. He is helping strengthen Native communities by providing financial and advisory support for Native peoples.

Rawley received his associate’s degree in public administration from Northwest Indian College in Bellingham, Washington, and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Western Washington University. He has also earned an advanced certificate from the American Institute of Banking.

Amongst his many accomplishments, Rawley is a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran and a commercial fisherman.
